Very well written. And I am totally agree.

I grew up in Estonia and our School system is simply amazing for this. ( And I am not surprised at all that we are now number 1 Education in Europe - based on PISA test)

Critical thinking should start from a very early on. It helps you to understand what is the truth, how to solve issues, and see the bigger picture.

For an example: When we read something, or made something we always had to explain WHY and share our opinion. There was no right or wrong answer, but there was a time to discuss and see how we see things differently ..

My husband comes from India, and due the lack of self expression in their own system, i can see how he can read one story and believe that this is the way it is.. While, when I read something I start digging for more info...

So YES it is very important and I WISH that we all could come to a point where critical thinking is more important than solving math problems or so on. As without understanding a problem or cause, it is hard to make a wise move.

Great article!!
